"Written
by experienced playwright and scriptwriter Bill Stackhouse, Black-Irish
Setter is an attention-engaging mystery starring a most unlikely
heroine. ... An unpredictable and original tale of suspense, Black-Irish
Setter confirms Bill Stackhouse as a skilled and original writer-and
leaves his readers waiting enthusiastically for his next Caitlin
O'Rourke mystery!"

Book Review
"This is a great first book in a new series. I really enjoyed
this book and look forward to more books with Caitlin O'Rourke.
Bill's descriptions of her and the other assorted characters in
this book were terrific. I could see each of them. They were very
real. This included the relationships between the characters as
well. ... I highly recommend this book and look forward to the next."

"Stackhouse
has come up with a wonderful cast of likable characters, and some
really obnoxious bad guys. The plot is fast-paced and exciting,
with Kate as the witty narrator who is constantly in trouble, with
her head generally taking the brunt of the confrontations and her
nose becoming more prominent with each blow.
The plot takes
several unexpected twists, and the surprise ending is hair-raising.
Bill gets better with each new novel. I can't wait for the next
book in the series. I think Kate is going to be one of my favorite
series characters."

"This
is the first in Bill Stackhouse's newest series starring Caitlin
O'Rourke [Kate] and it's a keeper. I loved it. I liked that Caitlin
was recounting the story TO me [which doesn't always work - trust
me!]
Caitlin is very well-written as a protagonist, and her
brother, Patrick, gives her the "in" she needs with the
NASHVILLE [?] police department. Who expects to find an Irish Pub
in Nashville?? But it works. And it works very well. It also leaves
a world of possibilities available for future books. I'll definitely
be waiting for the next one!"

"The murder
plot is interesting and the solution is a satisfactory one, clever
in the way Caitlin reasons her way to solving the mystery. Author
Bill Stackhouse plays fair with the reader in this regard, letting
him in on the same clues Caitlin has to work with. An additional
surprise at the end of the novel regards Caitlin, on a personal
level. Black-Irish Setter is a good, solid mystery and a
fun read with a great amateur sleuth who will hopefully be inviting
us into Kehough's bar again to take readers along for the ride in
solving other crimes."

Up With a Good Book
"In
this departure from his Ed McAvoy series, Bill Stackhouse introduces
a delightful character with his creation of the Black-Irish Kate.
She is strong, impulsive, witty, talks to her cat, and names her
cars. ... The plot moves along swiftly with enough twists and turns
to keep the reader riveted to the page and guessing as to the solution.
This is an extremely entertaining mystery with a mix of suspense
and humor that will be sure to delight all readers.
