Sherlock Holmes
had his Baker Street Irregulars and almost every modern police force
has its auxiliary unit. So, too, does the Peekamoose Heights Police
Department.
What's the purpose of the PMHPDA? To promote the Ed McAvoy Mystery
Series. It was Joseph Pulitzer, I believe, who said: "Without adequate
publicity, all else fails."
That's where the PMHPDA comes into augment my publicity efforts
and help me spread the word. According to Marilyn & Tom Ross in
their book Jump Start Your Book Sales, a recent Gallup poll
showed that 26% of fiction readers buy a book because a friend or
relative recommends it to them.
The requirements for membership in the PMHPDA are quite simple:
-
Participate
in a Ride-Along with the Peekamoose Heights PD (in other words,
buy a book.)
-
Be willing
to actively promote the series (talk it up with people, request
the books at your local library, post reviews on Internet sites,
etc.).
If you would
like to join, fill out the membership application, listing 3 Internet
sites where you have posted reviews of an Ed McAvoy mystery.
In return, I'll email you a downloadable PMHPDA Membership Certificate
suitable for framing (we do things up classy, here in the Village
of Peekamoose Heights).
Due to the large volume of SPAM being submitted through this page, the PMHPDA form has been deactivated. To join the PMHPDA, just send me an email listing the 3 sites where you've posted reviews and I'll sign you up.
