The small
Southern rural community of Sand Mountain is rocked when its
main industry leaves for Mexico ... that is, until a supposed
apparition of the Virgin Mary brings an influx of tourist
and pilgrim dollars to more than make up for the loss of revenue.
But is there a long-term detriment to the community that outweighs
these short-term benefits? That's the question that Fr. Tim
Sweeney, newly appointed pastor of Our Lady of Sorrows parish,
struggles to answer as he grapples with his own personal troubles.
